OUR ROOTS
Here at Mattie Ruth Powell Scholarship Fund, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making our communities and our world a better place by investing in our youth. Our youth who live in poverty, low-income and some lower-middle class are very intelligent and are high achievers. These wonderful students also have a desire to attend college. However, with the cost of education soaring higher and higher the opportunity can be difficult for them to enroll into college. Our decision making process is informed by comprehensive empirical studies and high quality data evaluation. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits from Clayton County, Georgia.

PRE- SCHOLARSHIP EVENTS

The Mattie Ruth Powell Scholarship Fund, hosted 2 Events. On April 29, 2018, we we had The Mattie Ruth Powell Pre-College Empowerment Seminar. It was a huge success and we also hosted the Fashion Attraction Fundraiser which did very well and people from the Clayton County community were very supportive.
In May, the three (3) students were chosen to receive the $1000.00 scholarships by the Mattie Ruth Powell Scholarship Board of Directors. In June, there will be an Award Celebration and the Scholarship money will be released at that time along with door prizes and other bonuses.
The Mattie Ruth Powell Scholarship Organization will always be striving to make a difference in our youths lives by mentoring, supporting and challenging them go reach beyond brink.
WHAT WE DO
THE VISIONEER
For years, Mattie Ruth Powell had extended her hand out to her community. Mattie was a resident in Anchorage, Alaska for 52 years. By giving financially to some of the high school students from her church and even as far as New York and Georgia, Mattie gave so that kids would not be hindered from obtaining a "higher learning" by attending College or a trade/skill Technical College. Here at Mattie Ruth Powell Scholarship Fund, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making our communities and our world a better place by investing in our youth.
